Our story
Health should not be a privilege - it is a right. Yet, across the world, gaps in research, strategy and partnerships prevent communities from accessing the solutions they need. Fidel Ventures — named after the Amharic word Fidel (ፊደል), which means “alphabet” and symbolizes voice, learning, and possibility — was founded by an Ethiopian woman to bridge these divides by delivering rigorous research in native languages, expert strategy consulting, and fostering impactful cross-border partnerships. Specializing in ethical AI & Health and sustainable solutions, our approach is sharpened by local knowledge, contextual understanding and cultural literacy.
At Fidel Ventures, we transform data into action. With 15 years of experience, our founders honed their global health expertise through Harvard Medical School and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Woman-led and driven by purpose, our team brings strong global health expertise, with direct and lived experience in Africa that informs our approach and deepens our impact. We offer expertise in research, philanthropy and academia. We collaborate with global and local organizations to create data-driven, sustainable health solutions. Our work spans both the Global North and Global South, giving us a unique vantage point to drive meaningful, lasting impact. We envision a world where evidence drives change, and no one is left behind.
Through Fidel Ventures, we aim to contribute our share to advancing global health by turning insights into action through research, strategy, and partnerships.
